Can you elaborate on Silas Marner?

It's an amazingly heartbreaking story of a man judged wrongly by others, who finds a treasure and knows how to appreciate it. At the same time it's a story about another man, wrongly not judged by others who loses the same treasure. With beautifully written passages describing the countryside and village life. Classic Eliot.

Thank you. Speaking of heartbreaking, I've been reading Middlemarch, and the way Eliot describes the rift, predictable though it is, between Dr. Ludgate and his wife Rosamund is just that.

Middlemarch is one of my favourites, but Mill on the Floss is also amazing. Maybe my favourite one of them all!
