I had no idea I might actually connect with someone who knew the New Royal Hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel no longer stands. It burned to the ground ca. 1980. I think the cause was listed as arson. My grandparents sold the hotel ca. 1970. I think there's been some kind of commemorative plaque since about 1985.
